H.O.N.O.R.S. Founder
& President

Christel Elizabeth Reed

Prior to organizing H.O.N.O.R.S., Ms. Reed attended Forest Park Community College where she received her Funeral Director’s Certificate and became a member of the Missouri Embalmers and Funeral Directors Association.  In 2009 Ms. Reed worked as a Removal Technician for George Removal Services. At that time, the business contracted with 7 funeral homes and sub-contracted with the St Louis City Morgue.  Ms. Reed relocated to Dallas Texas and worked at SCI Dignity Memorial in Garland Texas.  Eight years total has created a love and passion for bereaved family members who experience the loss of a loved one.

Ms. Reed has been in many homes removing the body of the deceased in a male dominated field and families would be shocked to see a female in this capacity literally carrying the deceased.  Ms. Reed’s former supervisor would always say to the families “She’s stronger than she looks”.  The families would hug her thank her for being so careful and gentle with their loved ones.

Ms. Reed began to see a pattern of a need for comfort, love, resources, and support for families even from a stranger make all the difference in someone’s time of a tragic loss. Ms. Reed started the non-profit organization H.O.N.O.R.S. (Helping our Neighbors with Ongoing Resources and Support) on Father’s Day 2021.

"Life for me hasn't been no crystal stair. For I am still going honey, I am still climbing. Now don't you fall."
